Obituary of Ross Anderson

On Saturday, November 11, 2023, Ross William Stewart Anderson of LaSalle, Ontario was taken too soon at the age of 55. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 27 years, Elaine; children Morgan and Murray; parents Bill and Donna; sister Kelly Seward (David); mother-in-law Beatrice Ross (late husband Alan); sisters-in-law Moira Bell (Robert), Pamela Barfett (Bill) and Shelia Madsen (Mike); nieces and nephews Alison, Jenn, Eric, Lauren, Andrew, Emily and Will and their families; as well as numerous relatives, neighbors and friends. Ross was born on February 23, 1968 in Stratford, Ontario. He grew up in London, Ontario where he excelled as an athlete at numerous sports, not limited to hockey, soccer and baseball. During his time at Saunders Secondary School, Ross received many recognitions for his leadership both on and off the field. He was a die-hard Edmonton Oilers fan, even when they couldn’t win a Stanley Cup, a long-time supporter of the London Knights, and a fan of many other Canadian teams (but never the Toronto Maple Leafs). His passion for technology shone through his career as a software engineer. His career took him everywhere from Ohio to Las Vegas to LaSalle, outside Windsor, where he most recently called home with his family. Ross was an avid community member, supporting local animal rescues, providing website support for the LaSalle Stompers SC, a regular at the Phog Lounge and known as the Mayor of Mencarelli to his neighbors. Ross’s innate ability to connect with people made him an irreplaceable person in many people’s lives. His kind-hearted nature and ability to bring the best out of anyone made him a true friend to so many. He was so loved and will be missed dearly. A memorial service and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Anderson’s are eternally grateful for all the love and support given by family, close neighbors and friends.
