I didn't know Laine well, but she and my sister Carol became friends when they worked together at Shoppers Medical Supply, a friendship that continued after the division was shut down. They would often talk for hours on the phone. A few of her knitted animals became gifts for our great nephews. Carol died last October, and Elaine was such a supportive and caring friend all through Carol's cancer journey. We will always be grateful for that. I am so sorry for your loss.

To all our family and friends of Laine. We have been mourning her loss very deeply. Her passing was so hard for all in our family as we never expected this beautiful, kind, loving person to leave us so quickly. We are so blessed that she gave us such love always in our lives. We feel that although she has passed someone so beautiful and giving is never lost but always in our memories to remind us to give and love to each other everyday. Always loved and always remembered. Allan and Sheila and family.

My best memories with Laine are the cousins all playing together in Michigan and Ontario. Having 14 cousins was awesome because our parents visited while we played. As kids we had lots of games at each other’s homes and picnics as family. Laine was great to know and although our lives took us in many directions, Facebook brought us back and we chatted often and when our brothers got Ill at the same time we kept vigil until my brother passed in March. Laine leaving us too is very sad.

My early memories of Laine were when I was about 7 years old. Her family had moved to St. Thomas, and I remember going with my Nana to visit. All I remember was that she loved riding horses.
We lost touch, both moving around the world, not reconnecting again until a few years ago. Last year, Laine joined my wellness Facebook group, which gave us a chance to catch up and chat about health, inspiration, and family. I loved her cute little knitted animals and bought one of her knit doggy sweaters for a friend of mine.
Laine recently shared that she kept a positivity journal and was excited to tell me that her doctor told her that sugar levels were good, she was feeling better, doing exercise classes, and planning to begin chair yoga.
My heart was heavy upon hearing of her sudden passing. Our last conversation was regarding our concern for her brother who was in ICU. Laine’s last message to me was, “Thanks, I remember Nana saying, ‘let go and let God’ …a phrase I have always kept in my heart.”
I was blessed to know you, Laine, and will always keep you in my heart. xo

Laine was an amazing woman and wonderful friend. We met the day we adopted "Magic" aka Chipmunk. Laine and I hugged and a little face popped out from its safe place..Laine's bra where she had carried, cared for and loved Magic since Laine got her 24 hours old weighing 2.9 ounces. Laine named her Magic because she remembered thinking that is what it would take to save this abandoned baby. Well, thanks to Laine's magical touch, expertise and unconditional love with a never give up attitude she saved that little monkey.
We instantly adopted Laine and Boomer and later, Angus into our family.
She sat all day in the heat with us at dog events cheering ud and another one of her foster kitten's new owners Deloni and her dog and because part of our dog community as well.
Laine was very loved, respected and admired and we will miss her beyond measure.
RIP Laine. ❤️
With much love,
Bonnie, Paul, Chipmunk, Teddy and Bella.
