Obituary of Louis Samuel Martin

After a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia, Louis Samuel Martin passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, at the age of 84.

Beloved husband of Marlene Martin (Sheppard). Loving father of Corrine Taylor (Ron), David Martin (Kim), and Kelly House (Stephen). Proud grandfather of Sarah Lalonde (Justin), Rebecca Turner (Kurt), Ty Martin (Kim), Abigail House, Nicholas House, and Ethan Taylor. Cherished great-grandfather of Lilian Lalonde and Jackson Turner.

Louis is survived by his siblings Bernice Freeman and Richard Martin. Predeceased by his siblings Elmer Martin, Ross Martin, George Martin, and May House.

Louis dedicated 40 years working in the paint industry and was respected for his hard work and dedication. He was also dearly loved by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Sun Parlor Home for their compassionate care and support.

Special thanks as well to Alzheimer Society of Windsor and Essex County for their guidance and kindness throughout his journey.

In his younger years, some of Louis’s happiest memories were spent at the family cottage on the Trent River, where summers were filled with boating, water skiing, laughter, and time with family and friends. He loved taking anyone who wanted to go for a boat ride, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Louis will always be remembered for his strength, his laughter, and the moments that made him who he was long before this illness. Though he will be deeply missed, there is comfort in knowing he is finally at peace.

As per Louis wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
