Obituary of Kenneth Clark Whitehurst
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Kenneth Clark Whitehurst, on February 25, 2026.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Whitehurst; his children, Becky (Joe) Montgomery, Charlotte (Glendon) Campbell, and Jason (Cory) Whitehurst. He was a proud grandfather to Robert, Shawn, Austin, Kyle, and Bryanna, and a cherished great-grandfather to Jason.
He is also survived by his siblings and extended family: Ida (Rene) Sabrina, Michele, Martin, Karen Whitehurst, John (Chrisy), Kerry Lynn, and Shannon Whitehurst, as well as many beloved grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
He worked for the Thunder Bay Board of Education as a custodian, as a taxi dispatcher, and as a helper with United Van Lines. He also worked underground on storm sewer projects and later worked security at children’s concerts alongside his best friend.
He loved the simple joys of life. Christmases with him were always special, as he would often do silly things just to make everyone laugh. In his younger years he played hockey, and throughout his life he enjoyed fishing, bowling at Playtime Lanes, playing pool, and recording movies with his friends.
He especially loved cooking and taking care of his family. He loved making cabbage rolls and perogies, especially when he was sneaking eating them—though he was known to sneak a few for himself before anyone else could. He was known for his generous heart and would often give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. One of his most memorable looks was his favorite tie-dye T-shirt, which he proudly wore everywhere.
We hold many wonderful memories of our dad and will carry them with us always. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
