Obituary of Lori Jan Hallifax (nee Mendler)

It is with a heavy heart, we regrettably announce the passing of beloved mother, sister, friend, and daughter Lori Jan Hallifax (nee Mendler) surrounded by family and loved ones on Saturday, June 21st, 2025 at the age of 66 years. She is predeceased by her loving husband Guy Hallifax (February 17th, 2025). Lori leaves behind her brother Carl “Jay” Mendler Jr., and loving children Alex, Nick, Olivia, Christian, and Meghan. Former husband Andres “Andy” Lozano. Cherished lifetime friend and sister Mary Lynn and Bert Lafontaine, Moriah Menscole, and Ernie Darocy. Fur companions Belle and Puppy the cat.

Loris life’s accomplishments are not only reflected in her children but in her faith and devotion to God. In her late 40s she went back to school and received her Bachelor of Divinity (B.Div). This has also been reflected in her philanthropy work, volunteering for many years at Parkwood Gospel, on her trip to Kenya helping less fortunate outside of Nairobi, and through other charitable organizations, in addition Lori has contributed to the less fortunate to include the adoption of children abroad.

Lori loved her people, she loved her plants and flowers, her fur babies, her backyard, and going down to the river having picnics with her late husband Guy. Lori also had a great sense of humour, was very easy going and easy to be around. She had the biggest heart you’d ever want to find and was always putting others first, even until her final resting days surrounded by her loved ones.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Doctors, Nurses, support staff, and volunteers especially who were there for the Hallifax / Lozano Family during the time of Lori’s transition.

All those who would like to make a charitable donation on Lori’s behalf, they may be made out to The Hospice of Windsor-Essex.
